The Importance Of A Welcome Series And How To Write One

If you're on my email list, then more than likely you have seen my Welcome Series! This blog post is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. Once you're done reading this post, I challenge you to immediately take action and go write your own Welcome Series! Okay, let's dive in.

The first thing you need to understand is the power of a Welcome Series. You might be thinking that it's some big grandiose thing, but honestly it's quite simple. You ready for the secret? People don't fall in love with businesses, they fall in love with people!! A welcome series is so powerful because this is the perfect opportunity to become BFFs with your brand new subscribers! They opted into your list and they WANT to get to know you! So don't be afraid to get personal and be vulnerable! You get very few chances to truly connect with your audience, so take advantage of it before it's too late and they've moved on.

Here are a few pointers when it comes to writing your Welcome Series. These are just some things that I have learned along the way and have also implemented in my own business. I like to think that a good welcome series is approximately 3 separate emails.. one being sent out every 24 hours. But there is no right or wrong answer. It could be a longer sequence or even a shorter one.. you choose what is best for your business... just as long as you write one!

So in the first email, I like to tell my new subscribers all about me. I introduce myself, share some personal and real life stuff with them (some fun facts, different hobbies that I love.. things like that). This email needs to feel super light and friendly! This is your chance to connect with your new subscriber, person to person. Share things with them that they could potentially relate to! You are beginning to build that personal friendship with them, rather than just a business to consumer relationship.

In the second email, I like to share my story. A few questions you could answer are: What is your background? Why did you decide to start this business in the first place? What has your journey been like? This is the perfect opportunity to share your passion for your business and really portray how much it means to you that they are here! Again, by you sharing your story with them, they are beginning to connect with you on a personal level, rather than a business level!

And last but not least, the third email should be full of testimonials and maybe a special discount code! This is the perfect opportunity to share reviews, video testimonials, etc. with your new subscribers so they can see how much you love interacting with your audience! You are a legit person who loves connecting with your customers, and you want them to see that! This is also the perfect opportunity to encourage them to follow you on socials too (where they can connect with you on a personal level even more). At the end of this final email, throw in a special discount code. You don't want to make this a "salesy" email.. You just want to offer something special because who knows! After getting to know you on a personal level, they might want to go ahead and shop with your business!

So there you have it! Short, sweet, and to the point! If you don't already have a Welcome Series set up in your business, I HIGHLY suggest creating one. They are extremely important! If you need help writing one and would like to pass this off to an expert- feel free to book a free call with me so we can chat more about your specific needs.

PS- as always, let me know over on social if you found value in this blog post! And if you know someone who would benefit from reading this, feel free to send it to them too!
